L.J. started her career performing with Covenant Players, an internationally famous touring theater company. She performed more than 250 roles over 4,000 times before leaving the troupe, pulling a wagonful of awards.
Back in L.A. she turned her sights to business, working for a film guarantor and then forayed into production accounting as a post-production accountant on numerous independent films. In fact, the screen credit “Post Production Accountant” was created for L.J and is now in common use.
Disney scooped her up as a production accountant where, as L.J. Van Cleave, she created budgets, schedules and cost reports on “The Lion King” (lead accountant); “Pocahontas” (interim accountant) and “Runaway Brain” (studio auditor). A promotion to Finance Manager found her working in Paris, transitioning Disney’s Paris Animation studio from the television department to feature animation.
The last decade L.J. has been busy at her computer monitor, taking up writing while a stay-at-home mom to son, Ben. She wrote a series of highly acclaimed chancel dramas, as well as filmed and recorded media for La Canada Presbyterian Church, plus authored a popular blog that ended up with several thousand followers after only one year.  She finished a not yet published collection of short stories and is now writing a biography for web personality Irmagarde Crabby.
